Young Artists Receive the Boriss Bērziņš Scholarship with the Support of Guntis Rāvis

Three first year students of the Academy of Arts – Madara Neikena, Krista Dzudzilo and Jānis Svars – have been granted the Boriss Bērziņš scholarship for one year, that is, until the next drawing exposition at the Academy of Arts next spring.

The scholarship is financed by the Chairman of the Board of "Skonto Būve" Ltd. and its recipients are selected on the grounds of works displayed by the students in exposition. These three students were recommended by the tutors of the Drawing Department of the Academy of Arts, the head of the department professor Edvīns Kalnenieks and the gallery Daugava.

"Skonto Būve" Carries Out the Overhaul of Underwater Crossing of Main Gas Pipeline Riga-Panavėžys

As a member of the General Partnership "Baltijas Energo Būve", "Skonto Būve" has concluded a contract with Latvijas Gāze regarding the overhaul of underwater crossing of the main gas pipeline Riga-Panavėžys across the Daugava.

To ensure internal diagnostics using intelligent valves, the main inverted syphon DN 500 in the section of Riga-Panavėžys main pipeline in Latvia (0,0. ÷ 84,03.km) will be converted into a communications shaft for the existing underwater crossing across the Daugava and in its place, a new inverted syphon DN 700 mm will be created using controlled drilling methods.

The estimated length of the drilling is 1700 m and the works include design and construction of the gas pipeline.


DINAMO Riga receives the biggest donation cheque in its history from "Skonto būve"

With the start of the new season of the Continental Hockey League, Latvia’s largest construction company "Skonto Būve" presented to the hockey club Dinamo Riga a giant-sized donation cheque with a value of 200 thousand euros. By making this donation to the DINAMO team and the development of ice-hockey, "Skonto Būve" Ltd. is the general sponsor of DINAMO Riga for the second straight season.

“The guys from Dinamo have demonstrated themselves as true fighters. With their solid and professional performance on the ice they give us the opportunity to be proud of our strength. I view this support to the DINAMO hockey team as an investment in strengthening the national pride of Latvia,” said Guntis Rāvis, Chairman of "Skonto Būve", when presenting the donation.


“Skonto Būve” Ltd. Provides Support in the Search for Soldiers Killed in Action

Honouring the memory of the soldiers, who died during World War I and World War II “Skonto Būve” has responded to the call for providing financial support for the search of fallen soldiers.

Activities related to the search and identification of the soldiers, whose location is still unknown, have been carried out since 1998 by “The Association of the Veterans of Afghanistan War and Military Conflicts Resident in Latvia”.

In 2010 in various regions of Latvia 68 remains of soldiers were found, and currently work on their identification is being carried out.


Construction of Five Municipal Residential Buildings Commenced on Ulbrokas Street

On 14 April 2010, the Mayor of Riga Nils Ušakovs, together with members of Committee of Housing and Environment, managers of Rīgas pilsētbūvnieks Ltd. and the builders "Skonto Būve", laid a cornerstone capsule and gave the go-ahead to the construction of apartment blocks at 13 Ulbrokas Street, Riga.

The capsule contains a message for future generations. It reads: “We hope that these homes will be comfortable for every family and that happy people will live in them.” The capsule also contained coins, today’s newspaper and visual materials with images of the construction site now and its intended final appearance.

Already this year, residents will gain access to 480 apartments located in three of the five residential buildings planned for the complex which will contain 792 apartments in total, including 288 single-room apartments, 288 two-room apartments, 120-three-room apartments, and 96 four-room apartments.
