Development of infrastructure on the island Krievu Sala for the transfer of port activities from the centre of Riga, Latvia

The project aims at the transfer of general cargo, Ro-Ro and bulk terminals of Riga port from the areas of Andrejosta and Eksportosta in order to relieve the centre of the city from cargo handling operations while at the same time promoting services and developing industrial production (factories, combined transport terminals, freight distribution and logistics centres) in ports and other transport hubs.

The project involves the construction of the 1st stage, construction of the 2nd stage and “Reconstruction of Zilā Street and engineering of a new street along the ditch Beķera grāvis in Riga”.

The following works will be carried out during construction: site preparation and civil works - drifting and development of the site; construction of hydro structures on Krievu Sala on the bank of the River Daugava – berths No 1, 2, 3, 4, and the connector berth 1A, with a total length of 1496.25 m; waterway expansion and deepening; construction of main engineering networks – water supply, sewerage and electricity, low voltage, gas and fire-fighting networks; construction of road traffic infrastructure – highways, roads , bridge, squares and railway for the functioning of the terminal area.

The general contractor of the project is the general partnership “BMGS S”, which is composed of SIA “Skonto Buve” and JSC “BMGS”.
