Skonto Būve Ltd. carried out the facade repairs and renovation of the Nativity of Christ Cathedral in Riga. The renovation works were supported by the charity initiative ''Svet'' (“Light”).
The project included renovation of the facade based on research of architectonic details on site, cleaning and painting of the facade and restoration of certain elements.
The Nativity of Christ Cathedral in Riga was built from 1876 to 1884 to a design by architect Robert Pflug in the Russo-Byzantine style characteristic to orthodox churches in the eclecticism period. The Nativity of Christ Cathedral was the first building erected on Esplanade Square.
The original design project was changed in 1890 – a bell tower was added to the building to accommodate the twelve bells received as a gift from the emperor Alexander II in Moscow.
